Session 4: Modern Cybersecurity, from Account Hijacking to Zero Days
By Monty St John

As cybersecurity has grown so too has the language to describe it. Knowing brings you closer to the heart of culture than its language. Cybersecurity, or information security if you prefer, is a subculture, with its own language, customs and habits. Understanding that language, makes helps in discerning the impact of the news that streams in front of our eyes on a daily basis. Its one breach or another, followed by a flash of some malware or new attack. Knowing what's being communicated means you can apply it in your life and in your work.

Students will both learn the language of cybersecurity, a sometimes confusing and daunting process, while being introduced to some of the more important and impacting modern events.
